She studied in the Ladies’ Superior Highschool where she was Joaquín García Monge’s student. She graduated as a writer in the USA and came back to teach lessons in the main Costa Rican institutions. She was member of the Feminist League from where she combated discrimination against women. Additionally, she was opposed to the tinoquist dictatorship for which she suffered exile.
