836-B5-020 Intercultural learning in the didactic process of oral communication: analysis of the Global Classroom platform

Objetivo:

To analyze the didactic process of oral communication in the Global Classroom platform through intercultural theory, in order to establish didactic strategies to expand the pedagogical scope of this resource.

The purpose of the study was to analyze the didactic process of oral communication in the Global Classroom (belonging to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln), which has been used since 2010 in the Oral Communication III and Oral Communication VI courses of the Baccalaureate in English Teaching at the Western Campus, in order to evaluate the meaning of this exchange and establish didactic strategies to broaden its pedagogical scope.

The relevance of the aforementioned tool is analyzed in light of the theories on intercultural teaching and the development of communication skills in learning a foreign language. Likewise, the study allowed an interdisciplinary investigation to be carried out because the participating researchers belong to two different specialties (English Teaching and intercultural learning), which allowed the enrichment of the research process since different knowledge and points of view are incorporated into the investigation process. In addition, the results of this study have allowed us to consolidate and expand the academic network started with the University of Nebraska with other universities in the world.
